Eldora

Jack William Nott, 74, of Hubbard, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 7, 2020 at UnityPoint-Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. There will be private services with family and friends, at a later date. Burial will also be private. Messages of condolence or stories of Jack can be made at www.abelsfuneralhomes.com

Jack was born on October 22, 1945, in Muscatine, Iowa, to his parents Ralph & Elsie May (Florea) Nott. Jack was raised as a young boy in Muscatine and at the age of 18, made his home in Eldora. He worked for Pine Lake Lumber in Eldora for over 20 years, Lawn-Hill Coop in New Providence, and Jerry Roling for 12 years. Jack most recently worked as a truck driver, where he retired.

He was known for being a jokester, rough around the edges you might say; no matter what, he would always be there for you, give you the shirt off his back. He cared deeply about those he loved and was always a helping hand. Jack had many close loving relationships, but he was especially close to his children Amanda and Aaron, and was inseparable from his beloved sister, Ruby. He will be greatly missed by his many family and close friends he leaves behind.

Jack is survived by his children Amanda (David) Hubbard of Waverly, Aaron Nott of Hubbard, Jeff (Tauhni Kerkove) Nott of Burnside, IA and Jackie Wheeler of Eldora; grandchildren Madison Oelmann and Cameron & Chase Hubbard, all of Waverly and Morgan and Brandon Nott of Burnside, Iowa; siblings Clyde, Floyd, Jim (Linda), Frankie Nott, Edith Nott and half-brother Mike Delmater; special brother-in-law Marvin Murphy. He rejoins in Heaven his parents; siblings Darlene Haller, Ruby Murphy, Mary Nott and Charlie Nott.
