Ineva Joan (Parkhurst) Bowen Freed, 89, of Reinbeck, Iowa passed away on August 8, 2022 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, Iowa. It was Ineva’s wish to have a private graveside service with her family present. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Ineva Joan (Parkhurst) Bowen Freed, was born July 9th, 1933, in Eagleville, Missouri of William and Etta Jane Parkhurst. In 1951 she would marry Harlan Bowen. They would live in Mississippi and Colorado during his Air Force days. Later returning to Lamoni, Iowa raising their two children Connie and Dale.
Ineva enjoyed her musical talent from singing, playing the organ, piano, and guitar. She worked at a local Veterinarian Clinic and later as a loan officer at a bank. Shortly after her retirement Harlan would become ill and require more care than she could manage alone on the farm. In 1996 they moved to Reinbeck for his care and to be closer to family. Her husband would eventually pass away in 1999.
Without such loss or life events she wouldn’t have met Carroll Freed. A unique bond of loss would lead them into marriage in 2001. They enjoyed each other’s companionship, family, travel, and simply living life.
She is survived by her: husband Carrol Freed, daughter Connie (Karl) Strohbehn, and son Dale (Sheila) Bowen. Seven grandchildren; Aaron, Shannon (Jill), Brandy (Matt), Vasily, Alyona, Dmitriy (Olivia), and Marina. Four great-grandchildren: Cael, Connor, Emma and Neveah. All of whom she was so very proud of.
Ineva is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, 2 brothers, and 1st husband.
