Beverly Lynn Whitlock, 66, of Grundy Center, left to meet her lord and savior on April 7, 2020, at the Grundy Center Memorial Hospital. Beverly Lynn (Barr) Whitlock was born on March 29, 1954, in Libertyville, IL, to her parents Gerald and Lois (Lavorota) Barr. She attended High School at Grayslake High School in Illinois, graduating with the class of 1973. She was united in marriage to Eugene Whitlock on February 14, 1975, at Lakeland Baptist Church in Lakeville IL. Beverly and Eugene moved to Morrison, IA, upon Eugene’s acceptance of employment in Dike. They would later make their home in Grundy Center where Beverly worked for Norwesco Plastronics and later when they rebranded, NCM. Beverly worked there for many years before it closed its doors. As of the last 10 years, Beverly was a stay at home grandmother after battling with health issues for a number of years.

Beverly enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and getting lost in a good book. She was proud of her faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Grundy Center; Beverly helped teach Sunday School and care for children in the nursery. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, cherishing the time that she spent with her family.

Beverly is survived by her husband Eugene of Grundy Center; father Gerald Barr of Illinois; children Elizabeth (Thomas) Coons of Gladbrook, Sandra Lynn Basilius of Marshalltown and Ben Eugene Whitlock of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Alexandria, Timothy, Samuel, Daniel, Nathaniel, Angelina, Josiah and Aurora Steinmeyer, Anthony, Christopher and Joshua Utterbach; sisters Laurie (Chuck) Norman of Waterloo and Kathleen Goote of Michigan; brother Jerry (Barb) Barr of Illinois and special friend Pati (Rich) Griffith. She was preceeded in death by her mother and sister Carol Shull
