Zora Kay Teater

 Zora Kay Teater, 84 of Eldora passed away on July 4^th, 2023. She was born on April 29^th, 1939 in Gifford Iowa to Charles and Pauline (Choate) Barnes. Zora graduated from Eldora High School in 1958. After she graduated, she met, married and later divorced Richard Murphy with whom she had two children. On October 21^st, 1971, she married the love of her life David Teater.

 She worked at the Iowa State Training School as a youth service worker for 33 years retiring in 1998. After retirement, Dave and Zora enjoyed going to Texas in their motor home for the winter.

 Zora’s favorite hobbies included grocery shopping, playing bingo, and cooking. Her specialties were deviled eggs, potato soup, chicken and noodles, and biscuits & gravy. She was a great cook and she enjoyed feeding people.  Food was her language of love and loved her dog Kandi.

 Zora is survived by her brother Terry Barnes (Elizabeth), Son Mike Murphy (Sharma), Daughter Shellie Murphy, grandchildren Ryan (Kourtney), Joe, Matthew, David and Jessica. As well as four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 Zora was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brother James (Jack)(Kitty) Barnes and Daughter in law Elizabeth Murphy.
