Scott Edward Albright, age 60, of Evansdale, Iowa, formally of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on January 28, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House with his family at his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family. A celebration of Scott's life will be held at a future date at Scotty's Saloon in Grundy Center, where family, friends, and those who lives where touched by him may come together to honor his memory.

In this time of loss, the family invites those who knew Scott to reflect on the joy and love he brought to their lives. His legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and the simple pleasures of life. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cedar Valley Hospice for their kindness and incredible care they provided. Dad – We miss you and will see you again.

Scott was born on May 17, 1963, to Amos and Marian Albright. Scott attended Grundy Center High School, graduating with the class of 1981 where he excelled in golf and baseball.   Scott enjoyed life to its fullest, loved his large friend circle, family, and had a passion for the outdoors.

Scott became a father to his first child, a son in 1985. He married Debra Werkman on March 25, 1989, and through this marriage welcomed one daughter. They later divorced. Scott met Toni Hoeppner in 2009 and remained together until his death. He held many jobs throughout the years but most recently worked for Bertch Cabinetry, where he remained a loyal employee until circumstances no longer permitted him to work. Beyond his work, he was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, hunter, fisherman, golfer and was well-known among his friends. His fish fry gatherings were a testament to his love of fishing and the outdoors. Scott played catcher in the slow-pitch softball league in Holland, Iowa for many years. He also held the record for the youngest hole-in-one at Town and Country Golf Course in Grundy Center, Iowa at the young age of 14.

Scott is lovingly remembered by his partner, Toni Hoeppner of Evansdale, brother, Mark Albright of Grundy Center, his children, Tyson (Kassandra) Albright of Grundy Center, Kayla (Jeff) Miller of Reinbeck, and Jordan (Jennifer) Hoeppner of Manchester, and his grandchildren, Grayson and Everly Albright, Jackson Miller, and Joselyn Hoeppner as well as many lifelong friends.

Preceding Scott in death were his parents, Amos and Marion Albright; sisters, Sandra Miller, Cindy Saddoris, and Cathy Harness; brother-in-laws, Carol Miller, Tom Saddoris, and Jim Harness; sister-in-law Lori Albright; and his grandson, Lee Albright.
