Ruth Minetta Ascher, 87, died Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center, IA.
Ruth was born on April 9, 1919 on the family farm in Colfax Township, Grundy County, Iowa, daughter of Fred D. and Lena (Casjens) Harberts. She was raised in the Holland area and attended country school at Lincoln #4. On February 22, 1946 she was united in marriage to Harry H. Ascher at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. On October 14, 1983 Harry passed away. Ruth was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church for many years.
Survivors include a daughter: Cinda and her husband Mel Vogt of Grundy Center; 3 brothers: Dick and his wife Enola Harberts of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Russell and his wife Merelyn Harberts of Hudson, Iowa and Alfred Harberts of Eldora, Iowa; a sister: Carolyn Harberts of Grundy Center, Iowa; and a sister in law: Janet Harberts of Grundy Center, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Harry; 2 brothers: Charles, and Floyd Harberts; and 3 sisters: Delia Rust, Cora Slifer and Isabelle Eiklenborg.
