Randall Ehmen

Randall Kent “Hubba”  Ehmen, 58, of Dike, passed away while surrounded by his family, on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Unity Point Allen Hospital in Waterloo after a short battle with cancer. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2019 at the Dike United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Dike United Methodist Church. Burial will be held privately at Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.

Randy was born on February 7, 1961 in Grundy Center, Iowa to his parents Richard and Mary Ann (Siems) Ehmen. He was raised on a farm near Stout and graduated from Dike High School in the class of 1979. After his graduation, Randy began his career as a Farmer at Kruger Farms. He worked there for 39 years until illness led to his retirement. Randy met Pam Carpenter and together they welcomed a daughter, Krista into the world. He then was united in marriage to Dawn Brubaker in August of 1998. Randy brought his daughter Krista, and Dawn brought her son Evan and together they welcomed their children Riley and Stevi into their new family.

Randy enjoyed his career as a farmer, it was his true passion in life. As a young man Randy was very involved in auto racing. A sport in which he won many trophies. He loved vintage westerns, John Deere tractors and Dale Earnhardt. Randy’s true joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his wife Dawn; mother Mary Ann Ehmen; children Evan Brubaker, Krista Zahner, Riley Ehmen and Stevi (Brandon) McDivitt; grandchildren Jaxson, Wesley and Jonathan; brother Rick (Karen) Ehmen; and sister Shari (John) Hill; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Ehmen.
