Norma C Smith

Norma C. Smith, 94, formerly of Reinbeck, died July 31, 2024.

 Norma was born April 29, 1930, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Ruth (Benham) Staack. She married Robert Smith on June 10, 1951, in DeWitt, Iowa. She graduated from DeWitt High School and attended the Iowa State Teaching College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. After which, she taught several years in one-room schoolhouses. 

She enjoyed gardening, baking delicious pies and cookies, crocheting, watching basketball and baseball games, and listening to country music. She loved spending summers at her cabin in Minnesota with family.

Norma is survived by her brother Dean Staack of Hudson, her four children Jackie (Scott) Garmager of Cedar Falls, David (Kellie) Smith of Hudson, Mary (Frank) Rickert of Waterloo, and Cindy (Mitch) Everson of Grand Marais, Minnesota. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a baby brother Harry Charles Staack, her sisters Jeanne Mazula, Janice Goettch, and Carol McKenna.

There will be no visitation, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for the family.
