Mary Lou Peterson

Mary Lou Peterson, 84, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home on February 2, 2022, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.

Mary Lou was born on January 9, 1938, in Lanesboro, Minnesota, the daughter of Melvin and Nora (Torkelson) Gillund. She was always a hard worker and spent almost 40 years at NCM, where she gained many friendships. Mary Lou enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Mary Lou is survived by children Steve Peterson of Reinbeck, Bob (Judy) Peterson of Beaman, Jim (Donna) Peterson of Gladbrook, Shelly (Randy) Johnson of Grundy Center, and Cindy (Jeff) Curren of Holland; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and brother Duane Gillund of Harmony, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Donald Gillund.

Per her wishes, there will be a private family memorial service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
