Marlene Blaeske

July 6, 1932 — December 29, 2008

Marlene J. Blaeske, of Eldora, Iowa was call home on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. She attained the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 23 days.




Marlene was born on July 6, 1932 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of William F. and Bess G. (Fuller) Trampe. She was united in marriage to William J. Blaeske on November 21, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She and her family moved to an acreage south of Eldora in 1972 and lived there till her passing.




Upon her retirement from the IDOT, she was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora where she was involved with the LWML, quilting, ladies aid, senior citizen meals, and served on the church renovation committee. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching Green Bay Packer games, being with her family, and attending estate auctions where she found many beautiful items for her daughters. She was a very beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.




Left to morn her passing is her husband of 55 years, Bill of Eldora; daughters, Holly (Mark) Dubberke of Nashville, Illinois and Lori Blaeske of Hudson, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Aubrey Dubberke of Lafayette, Indiana and Dustin Dubberke of Nashville, Illinois; a granddog, Ruffus T.; brothers, William Trampe of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Richard (Joan) Trampe of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Gordon Trampe of Springville, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Richard (Joyce)Blaeske of West Bend, Wisconsin and Andrew Weiss of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.




She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law, Margaret Trampe and Betty Weiss; brother-in-law, Robert Blaeske; and nephew, Rick Blaeske.




Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Township Cemetery near Owasa. Visitation is from 5 pm – 8 pm on Friday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Should family and friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Paul LWML, Lutheran Hour Ministries, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri or Bethesda Lutheran Home, Watertown, Wisconsin.
