Lisa Olson

June 16, 1965 — July 17, 2019

Reinbeck

Lisa Joanne Olson, 54, of Reinbeck, Iowa, passed away on July 17, 2019 at her home after a brief illness. There will be a family memorial service at a later date. The family has asked in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the family. All memorials will be directed to Lisa’s chosen charities.

Lisa was born on June 16, 1965 in Marshalltown, Iowa to her parents Robert and Carol (Mitchell) Bauge. She spent most of her life enjoying family and friends. Lisa loved cooking, cross stitching, and especially quilting. She spent many happy hours creating quilts for her family and residents at the head injury program in Waterloo. After her stroke in 2005 and with the help of this program, Lisa graduated as independent. She then created a program with the help of the Knot Sew Perfect Piecers quilting family to make quilts and other pieces for anyone in the program and staff.

Her greatest joy was becoming a grandma and making things to send to her granddaughter MacKenzie. Lisa’s smile, love and selfless giving will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

She had a great love of NASCAR and spent many hours watching her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She was his biggest fan, that he didn’t know.

Lisa loved to make pocket Kleenex packets to give to anyone she met. If you were blessed by receiving one from her, know that you were a joy to her.

Lisa is survived by her daughter Tabitha McCombs; granddaughter Mackenzie Hall; both of Bakersfield, CA; sisters Val (Casey) Bonk, Vicky (Ken) Yeomans, Robbin (Dennis) Elsberry all of Grundy Center, IA, Kelly (Tony) Smith of Estherville, IA, Jolaine (Mike) Sweiger of Des Moines, IA; brothers Tim (Teressa) Bauge, Oklahoma City, OK; Mike (Kathy) Bauge, Kevin (Fran) Bauge, all of Silver City, IA; Chuck Bauge, Malvern, IA; Randall (Kim) Mann of Mason City, IA; and Betty Ruth Bauge, mother of love, Iowa Falls, IA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Kay; and nephew, Tony Mann.
