Linda K. Bennett

Linda K. Bennett, 78, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Eldora Specialty Care in Eldora, Iowa, surrounded by her family. A visitation will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Abels Funeral and Cremation Services in Grundy Center. Funeral services will follow the visitation at the Funeral Home. At the conclusion of the funeral service, a private family burial service will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery. Please join the family for fellowship and lunch following the private burial at Town & Country Golf Club in Grundy Center, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.

Linda was born on March 9, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, to her parents Vernon and Arlene (Marken) Kinsinger. She grew up on a farm near Grundy Center with her two sisters Bonnie and Judy. Linda graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1966. She then went on to Iowa State University obtaining a degree in Elementary Education. While she was at ISU, she was united in marriage to Frank Bennett on March 2, 1969. Linda taught school for three years while Frank finished school and Army Duty. She followed Frank to Germany where their son, Turner was born. After that they moved to Macksburg, Iowa, where their daughter Amy was born. The family moved to Grundy Center in 1978, and she started her professional career with Production Credit Association. She later worked for Peoples Natural Gas, GNB Bank and later retired from Grundy County Memorial Hospital where she worked in purchasing.

Linda enjoyed a life centered on family, friendship, and community. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed gathering with friends through her coffee club. Linda cherished spending time with her family and took great pride in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, always cheering them on from the sidelines. She also enjoyed collecting snowmen, celebrating holidays, and making lasting memories with those she loved. Traveling was another favorite pastime, especially her winters spent in Arizona and the bank-sponsored trips she enjoyed over the years. These simple joys, along with the relationships she built throughout her life, brought her great happiness and fulfillment.

Linda is survived by husband; Frank Bennett, son; Turner (Belynda) Bennett of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, daughter; Amy (David) Hook of Holland, Iowa; six grandchildren; Vanessa (Landen) Johansen, Jacob (Miranda) Bennett, Elizabeth (Logan) Phillips, Kaleb (Reiley) Bennett, Mary Ash (Dylan Ohrt), and Lydia Hook, great-grandchildren; Avery Johansen, Brooks Bennett, Ella Bennett, Caroline Johansen, Madelynn Bennett, Hallie Bennett, and Lyla Bennett, sister; Judy Obrecht, brother-in-law; Bill McHugh, sister-in-law; Barbara (Jack) Schmoll, brother-in-law; Tom (Jo) Bennett. She was preceded in death by parents; Vernon and Arlene Kinsinger, sister; Bonnie McHugh, brother-in-law; Charlie Obrecht and brother-in-law; Bill Bennett.
