Jerry A. Luiken

Jerry Arthur Luiken, 94, of Grundy Center, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Arlington Assisted Living in Grundy Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born March 19, 1931, and grew up on a farm north of Grundy Center. After graduating from Grundy Center High School, Jerry worked in The Farmers Savings Bank a couple of years before entering the Army in 1952. After being discharged from the Army, Jerry attended the University of Iowa and graduated in three years with honors in accounting.

He then got a job in Chicago at Ernst & Young Accounting Firm as a CPA. While he was working there, he was asked to open an accounting firm in Den Haag and Amsterdam and was there for 20 years and also spent 2 years in Warsaw, Poland during the period of 1973-1995. After retiring, Jerry moved back to Chicago. He remained there until 2010 when he moved back to Grundy Center.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna (Franken) Luiken; one brother Floyd Luiken; and two sisters; Annabelle Shramke and Ruth Muller; and one nephew Timothy Larson.

He is survived by one brother-in-law; LaVern Muller and several nieces and nephews; Sally (Luiken) Rietema, Jim Luiken, Brad Muller, Beth (Muller) White, Chris Muller, Todd Larson, Debra (Larson) Zavala, and many great nieces and nephews.
