Edna Meyer

Edna H. Meyer, 88, of Holland , Iowa , died from natural causes on Thursday, December 03, 2009 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo . Per Edna’s wishes she was cremated. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center , Iowa with Pastor Gary Burkhalter of St. Paul Lutheran Church Wellsburg, Iowa . A private family burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center .



Edna was born December 29, 1920 in Colfax Township rural Wellsburg , Iowa the daughter of John and Kate (Harms) Finke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church rural Wellsburg. On January 10, 1947, Edna married Wm. Bud Meyer at St. Paul ’s Church .They always lived around Holland and Wellsburg. In 1974 they moved to their home in Holland . Bud preceded her in death in April of 1998.



Edna is survived by sons, Dobbie and wife Karilyn of Loveland, Colorado and Gary of Houston ,Texas; 2 grandchildren Chris and fiancé Nicole Murdock and Shayla Meyer; 2 step grandchildren, Kendra (Jeff) Jordan and Dion Weichers; 2 step great- grandchildren Tatum and Jameson Jordan and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was also preceded in death by her parents;3 brothers, Chris, Ebe and Johnny Finke; a foster brother, Charley Marquart; 6 sisters, Sophie Stickfort, Martha Heinrich, Lena Ross, Minnie Schmidt, Carrie Muller and infant , Louise.
