Dale Roger Oudekerk

Dale Roger Oudekerk, 82, of Voorhies, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024. He was born November 4, 1941, at home in Woden, Iowa to John and Harriett (Knapper) Oudekerk. On April 16, 1950, he made his profession of faith. Dale received his GED while he served in the U.S. Navy. Dale truly enjoyed his time in the Navy. When his service in the U.S. Navy was done, he worked as a General Foreman at Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa. Later, Dale worked at Universal Industries in Hudson and Waterloo. At that time, he met his wife, Donna. For many years he worked at Land ‘O Lakes in Hudson until he retired. 

Dale and Donna were united in marriage on October 14, 1977. They spent their married life residing in Voorhies. Dale loved working on anything mechanical, especially cars. He also had a love of wood-working, motorcycles and was also a licensed pilot.

Dale is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna. Children Shane (Brenda) Lamb of Voorhies, Michelle (Kent) Church of Parkersburg, three grandchildren (Nick, Emily, Zachary) and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Wilma (John) Harms, Patty (Roger) Mokelstad, Rob (Judy) Oudekerk, brother-in-law Dennis (Barb) Baago of Waterloo. Also, many nieces and nephews. 

Dale is preceded in death by his father John, mother Harriett, brother John, brother Paul, brother-in-law John Harms, nephew Kevin Harms, brother-in-law Dave Traub, sister-in-law Julie Traub, and sister-in-law Virginia Baago. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 20 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at French-Hand Chapel, 409 Clark St., Reinbeck, Iowa. Graveside service will be held Friday, June 21st at 10 am at the Hudson Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Hudson Amvets Post 82, 123 Eldora Rd., Hudson, Iowa. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society or Cedar Valley Hospice.
