Chuck was born on July 7, 1942, in Fairmont, Minnesota. He was the devoted son of Allan and Leeona (Frost) Edgerton. Chuck graduated from Fairmont High School in the class of 1960. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country overseas in Moracco as a military police officer. Upon his honorable discharge he joined the family business, Edgerton & Sons Produce in Hubbard, Iowa. He then went on to work at United Suppliers where he founded Greenbelt Trucking and from which he retired in 2007.

Chuck married Celia Hansen and they welcomed three boys into their family. The couple later divorced. Chuck was then united in marriage to Char Roling on August 2, 1991. Char brought two children into the marriage, and both their families grew for the better.

He was a member of the former United Methodist Church in Eldora. Chuck was involved in youth ministries at the church, the Boy Scouts and youth athletics for the elementary school. His favorite pastimes were fishing and hunting. He loved taking his annual trips to Gullrock Lake in Canada with friends and family. Chuck was a long-time member of the Eldora Montague Lodge #117, where he served as Secretary Treasurer and was very involved in the Mason’s concession stand, which served all of Eldora and county events. Chuck also enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing. However, his true joy in life came from spending time with his family.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 34 years, Char; his sons Al Edgerton, Craig Edgerton (Jessie Rewoldt), and Cory (Korine) Edgerton; stepchildren Sean (DeAnn) Roling, and Jami (Brian) Kendall; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Richard (Connie) Edgerton; and nieces and nephews.
