Cassandra Lepley

Cassandra L. Lepley, 65 of Eldora , Iowa died on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center , Iowa . Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March13 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eldora with Pastor Corey Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Sheppard Cemetery near Union , Iowa . Visitation is from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to Cassandra’s family.

Cassandra was born March 13, 1944, in Hampton , Iowa , daughter of Evanel and Leola (Schear) Johansen and attended the Geneva School system. She was raised in Geneva , Iowa and lived in Bradford , Iowa for several years before moving to Eldora in 1975. Following a previous marriage, Cassandra was united in marriage to Joe Lepley on January 4, 1992 at the Eldora United Methodist Church . Cassandra had been employed with the Herald Index in Eldora for about 20 years and had also worked as a waitress for Jerry’s Pizza in Eldora for several years where she met her husband, Joe. She had also worked for Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora for several years. Cassandra was a member of the Eldora United Methodist Church , enjoyed needle-work of all kinds, and loved her flowers and the color purple.

Surviving is her husband, Joe; mother, Leola of Hampton; children, Jeffrey (Lisa) Bahr of Eldora, James (Denise) Bahr of Ankeny, and Rhonda Bahr of St. Paul, Minnesota; sister, Sherry (Terry) Voy; step-children, Thomas (Susan)Wilson, Jamie (Mike)Thompson , Rusty (Mary) Lepley, and Wendy Lepley; and by five grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. Cassandra was preceded in death by her father.
