Bruce A Legreid

Bruce Allan Legreid was born June 17, 1940, at Buffalo Center, Iowa to Burnild and Ingeborg Legreid. He entered eternity on July 12, 2024 at the Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. 

About the age of two, he moved with his parents to a farm near Hayward. Minnesota. After spending a few months in Bisbee, Arizona, he moved to another farm near Hayward where he spent the rest of his life. Bruce loved farming with his dad, especially driving the tractor and using other machinery.

Bruce was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in Rake, Iowa, and confirmed at Oakland Lutheran Church near Albert Lea, Minnesota where he is still a member. He received a private education.

A delight of his life was ordering pens, notebooks, and calendars to give out to people as a way of showing his appreciation for their friendship, since he was deaf and communicatively handicapped. He found great joy in regularly visiting neighbors who became friends.

Bruce is survived by his sister, Carol Iverson of Grundy Center and two nieces, Sarah Guild and her husband Jamie of Merriam, KS and Carla Lien and her husband Nathan of Leawood KS, and their children, Jonathan Guild, Caleb Guild, Eliana Guild, Gabrielle Guild, Jacob Lien, Joshua Lien, and Katie Lien. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Sam Iverson. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday July 15, 2024 at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.
