Anita Westcott

Anita Sue Westcott, 70, of Eldora, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 while under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Creps-Abel Funeral Home in Eldora. Private graveside services will follow at Hillside Cemetery at State Center , Iowa . Anita was born February 15, 1939 in State Center , Iowa , daughter of Everett and Jeanne (Gilgen) Bernard and graduated from Union-Whitten High School in 1958. She has lived in Eldora the past 20 years. Anita enjoyed gardening and also painting and drawing.

Survived by her loving mother, Jeanne Bernard of Eldora; children, Evett (Hank) Westphal of Hudson, Wisconsin, Layn (Lora) Westcott of New Ulm, Minnesota, Lynn (Laurel) Westcott of Le Sueur, Minnesota, and Evonn (Doug) Siebenahler of Lake Crystal , Minnesota ; sisters, Becky ( Wayne ) Caster of Union and Nikki Mattson of Eldora; brother, Bernie Bernard of Union ; by 11 grandchildren, many foster grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Anita Sue will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and her love of life and everyone in it. The family is very appreciative of all the health care providers that cared for her over the years especially Iowa River Hospice.
