Catherine “Cathy” M. Boll, 87, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Reinbeck, passed away on Sunday, June 24th at Mahaska Health Partnership-Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Visitation for Cathy will be held on Thursday, June 28th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. We will leave in procession at 2:00 PM to the Reinbeck Cemetery following visitation, for a graveside service with Rev. Joel Love officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Cathy was born on February 11, 1931, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to her parents Frank & Maude (Davison) Ademite. Cathy moved at the age of 5 to the Iowa Soldiers 'Orphans' Home and later to the Annie Wittenmeyer School in Davenport. She graduated high school in 1949 and later attended nursing school. She worked a short time as a nurse for Dr. Verduyn in Reinbeck but worked mostly as a homemaker. She was a resident of Reinbeck, Cedar Rapids, Minneapolis and back to Oskaloosa, where she has been a resident for 30 years.

She enjoyed quilting, knitting, needle point and cooking. She was a collector of all things, especially cook books! Cathy was a social butterfly, loved having coffee and socializing with her family and friends and no one was a stranger to her. She was very caring and inviting, affectionately known as “Grandma”. She will be dearly missed by those dear to her; her loved ones left behind.

Cathy is survived by her children Joe Slight of FL, Richard Sr. (Theresa) Boll of Honey Creek, IA, Floyd (Leta) Boll of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ralph (Ronda) Boll of Oskaloosa, IA and Doreen Boll of Minneapolis, MN; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers Frank (Nancy) Ademite of Sauke Center, MN and Don Carothers of Palm Bay, FL.
