Wade K. Aukes, 47, of Wellsburg, Iowa died from natural causes on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the First Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Betsy Piette of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday at the First Christian Reformed Church. Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Wade's family. Wade was born August 27, 1960 in Waterloo, son of Wayne and Carol (Mennen) Aukes. He lived his entire life near Wellsburg, graduating from Wellsburg High School with the class of 1978. On May 9, 1981 Wade was united in marriage to Laura Heinrich at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg. He worked for 8 years at Farmland Foods in Iowa Falls following high school then became self-employed as a contractor and farmer, owning and operating "Modern Home Construction Company".



He was an active member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and an avid outdoorsman enjoying outdoor activities of all kinds. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews who he loved very much.



Surviving is his wife, Laura; his children, Blake and Kimber; his parents, Wayne and Carol; sisters, Kirsten Riebkes and her husband Greg, and Diane Haupt and her husband Lance; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ecko and Gladys Mennen; and paternal grandparents, John and Helen Aukes.
