Steven Schissel, 47, of Parkersburg, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007, at his home under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice.
Steve was born November 5, 1959, in Cresco, Iowa, the son of Rod and Ruth (Bill) Schissel. Steve grew up in Alta Vista, Iowa and attended high school in New Hampton where he graduated from in 1978. Steve lived south of Parkersburg where he raised hogs and farmed. From 1981 till 1995 Steve was plant manager of Yoder Feeds. He then worked for the Dike-New Hartford Farmers Co-op until the time of his death. Steve was a member of Saint Mary?s Catholic Church in Dike and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Steve loved his motorcycle and had a love to farm and raise hogs.
Steve was very devoted to his friends and family.
Survivors include his mother, Ruth Schissel of Waterloo; brother, Lee (Laurie) Schissel of Waverly; a sister, Della Kobliska of Dike; nieces, Rachael Kobliska, Amanda Mallon, Leigh Schissel; nephews, Rodney (Kelly) Kobliska, Ryan (Denise) Schissel, Brandon Schissel and a great neice, Hailey Kobliska.
He was preceded in death by his father; Rod Schissel; grandparents, Ernest and Norma Bill and Ralph Schissel.
