Sara Jane Feran, 25, of Charleston, SC, formerly of Wellsburg, died at her home in Charleston on Sunday, April 22, 2007. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 28, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg with Pastor Gary Burkhalter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Sara's family will gather to greet friends at Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg on Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Sara was born May 31, 1981 in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Clifford and Pamela (Clark) Harms. She was raised in Wellsburg where she graduated from the Wellsburg High School in 1999. She was united in marriage to Herbert Feran in July of 2000 while in Kentucky where Herbert was stationed with the armed forces. They moved to Charleston, South Carolina shortly after marriage. Sara was studying to become a massage therapist and enjoyed writing poems and short stories, some of which had been published. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg and attended and sang in the choir at the James Island Presbyterian church in Charleston.

Surviving is her husband, Herbert of Charleston; her parents Clifford and Pamela of Wellsburg; brothers, Troy Harms and his wife Gena of Phoenix, Arizona and Brody Harms and his wife Tennille of Waukee, Iowa; nieces, Taylor and Karsyn; and nephew, Aaron; and mother-in-law, Becky Feran of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Milo and Genevieve Clark; paternal grandparents, Ibeling and Evelyn Harms; and father-in-law, Herbert Feran Sr.
