Robert Allen Weiss, age 58, of Crestview, Fla., passed away early Saturday morning, September. 19, 2009, after a long fight with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Saint John's Lutheran Church in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Bruce Boyce officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck. Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2009, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., with the family present to greet friends, at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck.
Robert was born January. 15, 1951 to Lester and Edna (Schneider) Weiss of Reinbeck, Iowa. He served 22 years in the United States Air Force and retired from the military at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach Florida.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Weiss; daughter, Cindy Hendrix of Abilene, Texas; a son, Bryan Weiss of Des-tin, Florida; adopted daughter, Susan, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Jean Weiss, of Loveland, Colorado and Ruth Ann Schmidt of Osage, Iowa; and a brother, Steve Weiss of Davenport, Iowa. There are four grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
