Myrna Meyers

Myrna Maxine Meyers, 84, of Grundy Center, died at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy County Memorial Hospital while under the care of the Cedar Valley Hospice, November 26, 2009.
She was born on December 30, 1924, in rural LaPorte City, daughter of Della Brandt and Jack Maxfield. She married Jack Meyers on November 1, 1946. He died November 20, 2000.
Mrs. Meyers graduated from Forest City High School in 1943. She worked as a telephone operator in Forest City until the time of her marriage, and then worked in several businesses.
Myrna is survived by: 2 children, Theresa Walters of Orlando, FL and Michael Meyers; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister –in-law Jean Klosterboer. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
