Mark Wold

Mark A. Wold, 55, of Eldora, died at his home from natural causes on Monday, October 9, 2006. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, October 17 at the First Baptist Church in Eldora with Pastor Roger Crawford of the Calvary Baptist Church in Union officiating. Military honors will be provided by Walter-Sayer Post 182 of the American Legion and Roll-Harless Post 3974 of the VFW. There will be no public visitation. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.



Mark was born May 2, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa son of Ronald and Hazel (Schlampp) Wold, and graduated from Dubuque Sr. High School in 1969. He was in the U.S. Army for five years then worked in Dubuque as a dispatcher for H&W and in Guttenberg at Kann Corporation as a draftsman. Mark moved to the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown, Iowa in the year 2000, due to disability, and has lived in Eldora the last four years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eldora and enjoyed woodworking and antique restoration, cooking, reading Christian literature, and writing letters.



Surviving are his daughters, Nichole (Dan) Rogers of Quito, Ecuador, South America and Beth (Randy) Chandler of Alaska; and grandchildren, Andy and Carolyn Rogers of Ecuador. He is also survived by his mother, Hazel A. Wold of Dubuque; sisters, Pamela Emary of Des Moines, Kathleen (Paul) Erickson of Dubuque; brothers, Patrick Wold of Dubuque and Timothy (Dawn) Wold of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two very special friends, Nikki Mattson and Pete Williams of Eldora; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Wold; sister, Dianne Erickson; and brothers, Joseph and Ronald Luke.
