Lois Bokholt

Lois Bokholt, 85, of Grundy Center, died on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Grundy Center under the care of the Cedar Valley Hospice.

Lois was born November 7, 1920 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Itnyre. She was raised and educated in Sterling graduating from Sterling High School in 1938. She then attended and graduated from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa in 1942. Lois taught school for 5 years. On August 1, 1948 she was united in marriage to Lyle Bokholt in Sterling, Illinois. Lois worked as the executive secretary at the Spokesman Press and the National Hog Farmer Magazine. She then worked as the assistant Grundy County Recorder and later as the Grundy County Recorder.

She is survived by her husband: Lyle: a daughter: Carol and her husband David Winkler of Kingston, Washington, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Ralph, Bob, and Frank Itnyre; and two sisters: Edna Neis and Grace Jones.
