Lillian Cervetti

Lillian M. Cervetti, 84, of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, died Friday, August 6, 2004, in Ellsworth, Iowa, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Monday, August 9, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, with Pastor Bruce Baillie officiating. Burial will follow at Steamboat Rock Cemetery in Steamboat Rock. Visitation will be Sunday, August 8, 2004 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with the family present from 5:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., to greet friends at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established.



Lillian was born May 12, 1920, in Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Olthoff) Maas. She was raised on a farm north of Wellsburg & attended rural country school. On April 29, 1937, Lillian was united in marriage to Joe Cervetti at Hampton, Iowa. In 1939, they moved to Steamboat Rock, where she has resided since. Lillian worked as a bookkeeper for Cervetti Construction and also worked for a time as a teller at the Steamboat Rock Bank. She and Joe spent winters in Arizona for many years and she enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, antique collecting, basketball, music, and most of all her family. Her husband Joe died on October 29, 1998. Lillian was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Steamboat Rock.



Surviving to cherish her memory are one daughter Joan Kuhfus and her husband Michael of Ellsworth, Iowa; four granddaughters Michele Loomis and her husband Steve of Ellsworth, Iowa; Staci Kuhfus and her husband Victor Tjarks of Ellsworth, Iowa; Gina Cervetti of Boston, Massachusetts; and Maria Cervetti-Slifer and her husband Dennis of Ocala, Florida; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters Mabel Weichers of Wellsburg, Iowa; Wyone Ross and her husband Willard of Wellsburg, Iowa; Harriet Burns of Steamboat Rock, Iowa; one sister-in-law Jane Maas of Eldora, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe; one son Frank Cervetti; one grandson Brett Cervetti; four sisters Faulka in infancy; Mary Schmidt; Florence Tjaden; Jenny Etjen; and one brother Henry Maas.
