Lane Jensen

December 9, 1946 — December 20, 2007

Lane Struntze Jensen, 61, of Dike, died at his home from non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on Thursday, December 20, 2007 while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls, Iowa with Pastor Donald Feuerhak officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Dike. The Dike Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.



Lane was born December 9, 1946, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, son of Holger Peter Jensen and Jeanette Christine Struntze Jensen. He graduated from State College High School in 1965 then attended Iowa Central Community College, where he played football, graduating in 1968 then attending Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri. He had been employed by John Deere of Waterloo and Clay Equipment of Cedar Falls before working for Fishel Construction of Allison for 28 years.



On November 13, 2004, Lane was united in marriage to Amy Joyce (Nielsen) Andersen at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lane enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper and loved taking spring and fall fishing trips to Canada with his friends for the past 28 years. He was a stock-car race fan and from 1968-2001 was crew chief for Curt Hansen's "Blue #9" car.



He is survived by his wife Amy; sister, Kathleen (Rick) McFarland of Waterloo; brothers, Kenneth (Darlene) Jensen of Greenwood, Indiana and Michael (Nancy) Jensen of Clarksville; step-children, Katy and Jon Neff of Cedar Rapids and their children, Kathleen, Marlis, and Kennedy Neff; Mike and Stacey Andersen of Dike and their children Josh and Miranda Faley; Suzanne and Daimien Bennett of Dike and children Alex Andersen, Lillien and Sophia Bennett; Chet and Heidi Andersen of Cedar Falls and children Elise and Emmy; Michelle and Waylon Bern of Reinbeck; and Carl Andersen of Dike; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Brett Jensen.
