Harry G. Ladd, 52, of Iowa City, Iowa, formerly of La Porte City, Iowa, died Tuesday, April 05, 2005, at his home in Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Joel Love officiating. Full military rites will be provided by Action Post #242 of the Reinbeck American Legion. Inurnment will follow at a later date at the Reinbeck Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday morning at the church. A memorial fund has been established.

Harry was born on July 15, 1952, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Charles A. and Arlene L. (House) Ladd. Harry graduated from La Porte City High School in 1970, and then enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran who served his country attaining the rank of Cpl. and was honorably discharged on October 23, 1973. Harry then worked at various construction jobs and also for Iowa State University. Harry then moved to La Porte City. On May 9, 1985, Harry re-enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Collins, Colorado. While in Colorado, Harry obtained his real estate license. On February 19, 1992, Harry was discharged from his military service where he had attained the rank of Sergeant and moved back to Iowa. He lived in Jesup and Waterloo, Iowa, for a number of years and worked as an on-site maintenance provider for several rental properties in the Waterloo area. Harry then moved to Iowa City and continued his maintenance work for rental properties. Harry was an avid collector. He loved to hunt and to fish, and enjoyed spending time with his friends.

He is survived by two brothers Charles Ladd of Toluca, Illinois; Doug Ladd of Waterloo, Iowa; five sisters Enez Rush of Reinbeck, Iowa; Norma Scott of Lehigh, Iowa; Zatha Brubaker and her husband George of Reinbeck, Iowa; Ercell Steinbron and Ron Brown of La Porte, City, Iowa; and Zelda Studebaker of Jesup, Iowa; by many nieces and nephews; and by his cat ?fatty boy.?

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Wayne and Bill Ladd; one sister Wanda Studyvin; and three brothers-in-law Pat Rush, Lyle Scott, and Gary Steinbron.
