Harrold H. Kusserow, 96, of Eldora, Iowa died from natural causes on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 20 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastors David Splett and Bruce Zimmermann officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldora City Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.
Harrold Herbert Max Kusserow was born August 28, 1912, to Albert and Emma (Schwebke) Kusserow of Eldora. He farmed the family farm following his father's death in 1933. Harrold married Darlene Willcox of Eldora on October 18, 1945 and to this union one child was born, Holly Jane. Harrold was baptized, confirmed and a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora.
He is survived by his daughter, Holly Jane Kusserow-Smidt and her husband, Donovan Smidt, of Forest City, Iowa and by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in April 2000; his sisters, Lydia and Agnes; and his brothers, Ilo and Lorenz.
