Elma Siefken

August 8, 1919 — January 19, 2009

Elma was born August 8, 1919 in Lincoln Township of Grundy County. She was the daughter of Heye and Alice (Franken) Heronimus. She grew up and attended Grundy County School graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1938. On April 26, 1940 she married Henry Siefken and they continued to make their home in Grundy County. She was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in Holland, Iowa. Em, as she preferred to be called, is survived by her daughter: Shirley Johnson and her husband Dr. Robert Johnson of Williston, Vermont; two granddaughters and their husbands: Jennifer and Jay Muse of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Tamara and Jed Wehrman of Lyman, Maine; and four great grandchildren: Anna, Henry, and Thomas Muse and Elsie Wehrman, all of whom lovingly referred to her as "GaGa". She is also survived by three sisters: Tena Schoon and DeLoris Bakker of Grundy Center, Iowa and Iva Dean Itzen of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Siefken, and by nine of her twelve siblings: brothers: Harold in infancy Tom, Paul and George Heronimus; sisters: Hazel Abels, Gertrude Hansen, Ella Paterni, Mae Brower, and Lillian Heronimus.
