Dale Nance

February 21, 1924 — October 17, 2008

Dale was born February 21, 1924 near New Providence , Iowa , son of Luther and Eva (Kimmer) Nance. He graduated from the New Providence High School in 1941. Dale served his country serving in the United Sates Army during WWII. He flew over 50 bombing missions over Germany as a ball turret gunner. He was awarded an Oak leaf cluster, and the Air Medal. On March 19, 1948 he was united in marriage to Dorothea May Banghart in Marshalltown , Iowa . The couple lived in New Providence until 1956 at which time they moved to Steamboat Rock for a year before moving to Alden in 1957. They farmed in the Alden area until retiring and moving to Eldora in 1987. Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldora, and was a former 4 - H leader.





Surviving is his wife: Dorothea; a son: Dennis and wife Susan Nance of Trenton, Michigan; 2 daughters: Debra and husband Robert Lofgren of Equador, and Deanna and husband Scott Hanekamp of Aurora, New York; 8 grandchildren; 2 sisters: Pauline and husband Abner White of New Providence, Iowa, and Irene and husband Charles Harvey of Eldora, Iowa; and a brother: Raymond and wife Nancy Nance of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Eva Nance.
