Caryl F. Austin, 89, of Ackley, Iowa, died from natural causes on Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at the Ackley Presbyterian Home in Ackley, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 8, 2005, at Pleasantview Cemetery in Aplington, Iowa, with Pastor Dan Graham officiating. A memorial fund has been established. Engelkes - Abels Funeral Home of Grundy Center, Iowa is serving the family of Caryl Austin.
Caryl was born September 14, 1915 in Austinville, Iowa, daughter of Walter George and Cora Frances (Dahn) Austin. Caryl attended COE College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for four years where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. After graduation she made her occupation as a social worker. Caryl was a member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago.
She is survived by seven nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother Donald Arthur Austin; two sisters Marguerite Henning and Beryl Sarah Roe; and two infant sisters Gladys Adaline and Dorotha Bernice.
