Brenda Ann Cuevas, 39, of Eldora, Iowa died at her home on Saturday, October 15, 2005. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, October 21, 2005, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, Iowa, with Pastor David Splett officiating. Burial will follow at Eldora City Cemetery at a later date. There will be no evening visitation; however, a guest register will be available Thursday, October 20, 2005 from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to Brenda?s Remembrance Fund in care of Hardin County Savings Bank, Eldora, Iowa.



Brenda was born July 18, 1966, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, daughter of Craig Granzow and Sharon Balvanz. Brenda attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, graduating in 1984. She went on to receive her LPN nursing degree at Maricopa College in Tempe, Arizona. Brenda worked as a nurse in Phoenix, Arizona until she moved to Eldora, Iowa in 2002. Brenda became actively involved in the community as soon as she moved to Eldora. She was President of W.I.N.G.S. Sorority, a Girl Scout Leader, school volunteer, and a Little League coach. Brenda was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Historical Society. She had just been elected to be the 2006 Co-Chair for the Ladies Golf League at the Pine Lake Country Club where she was a member. She was also a member of the Pine Lake Country Club Bowling League. Brenda attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora and her, Nicole, and Jaime attended Walking Wednesdays at the United Congregational Church every Wednesday night. Brenda was a new Hawkeye fan and loved to fish. She was a devoted mother, daughter, and granddaughter.



Brenda is survived by her parents Sharon and Loran Balvanz of Eldora, Iowa; and Craig and Cordie Granzow of Denver, Colorado; her two daughters Nicole Marie Cuevas, and Jaime Annette Cuevas; three sisters Katheryne Granzow of Fort Riley, Kansas; Kelli and her husband Terry Blythe of Trenton, North Carolina; and Jenny and her husband Kelvin Kitchens of Hiawassee, Georgia; one brother Chad and his wife Maggie Roy of Eldora, Iowa; grandmother Lois Westerhausen of Eldora, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.



She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Doug and Charlotte Granzow; maternal grandfather James Westerhausen; and brother, Bradley Granzow.
