Betty Bottema

Betty M. Bottema, 69, of Eldora, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora while under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21 ^st from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. A graveside service will follow the visitation at the Union Cemetery in Union with Pastor Troy Emley officiating.

Betty was born on September 2, 1940, in Iowa City , Iowa , the daughter of Blaine and Ulva (Harmon) Crosser. She grew up in Zearing and attended school in Zearing, Gifford and Eldora. On December 27, 1958, Betty was united in marriage to John Bottema in Union , IA. After the two were married, the couple made their home in Eldora. They later lived in Whitten, Union and eventually moved back to Eldora. Betty enjoyed crocheting, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband John of Eldora; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother Donald Crosser and an infant daughter Rebecca.
