Bess Wheeler

Bess Wheeler, 93, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Monday, October 8, 2007, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck. Bess was born July 9, 1914, in rural Jasper County in Iowa, the daughter of Earl and Nora (Wheatcraft) Gearhart. Bess attended school in Colfax, Iowa and graduated with the class of 1929. On January 24, 1931 Bess married Wayne Wheeler in Reasnor. Bess and Wayne owned and operated Appliance stores in Reinbeck, Iowa, Cleveland, MN, and Northfield, MN areas until their retirement. Bess was a very good seamstress and made and designed Barbie and Cabbage Patch Kids doll clothing, which she loved to show and sell at craft shows. Bess loved to fish especially at Lake Jefferson in Minnesota, where she had a cabin for many years. She loved to take trips to Branson, Missouri, trips to the casinos, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Bicket of Reinbeck, IA; Teresa (Bill) Pohl of Cook, MN;

Grandchildren, Dan(Judy) Bicket of Reinbeck, IA; Jim (Julie) Bicket of Urbandale, IA; Tom(Vicki) Bicket of Reinbeck, IA; Caitlin Pohl of Cook, MN; Becky(Brad) Smyth of Burnsville, MN; Kari( Jay) Schimmelpfennig of Lester Prairie, MN; great grandchildren, Heather(Josh) Hemann of Lone Tree, IA; Brittney Bicket and fiancAC.e Ryan Jansen of Reinbeck, IA; Danielle Bicket and fiancAC.e Caleb Hamer of Reinbeck, IA; Wendy(Gabe) Martinez of Des Moines, IA; David Bicket, Michael Bicket of Urbandale; Tim(Melissa) Bicket of Hudson, IA; Tammy(Jeremy) Brandt, Adam Symth of Burnsville, MN; Ty Schimmelpfennig of Lester Praire, MN; great -great grandchildren Jayla Hemann of Lone Tree,Iowa; Jasmine Parker, Alyssa Parker and Layla Martinez all of Des Moines, Iowa; and Nora Brandt of Burnsville, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne; son David; two brothers; son?in- law Kenneth Bicket, and infant grandson.
