Barry Trout

December 8, 1942 — December 18, 2005

Barry L. Trout, 63, of Eldora, died from natural causes on Sunday, December 18, 2005 at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at the Eldora United Methodist Church in Eldora with Pastor Douglas Harding officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Eldora. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora.



Barry was born December 8, 1942, in Pleasant Township near New Providence, Iowa, son of Bernard and Maxine (Edwards) Trout. He moved with his family to Gifford at the age of seven then graduated from Eldora High School in 1962. On January 5, 1969 he was united in marriage to Marcene Nelson at the United Methodist Church in Marshalltown and they made their home in Eldora. Barry's first job was with Davison Brothers Lumber doing construction, which carried over into an interest of working with wood as a hobby later in life. He then started driving truck for Lawn Hill Elevator, Trojan Seed Company, LaVelle Oil Company, and most recently delivered ready mix concrete for Concrete Incorporated. He joined the Eldora United Methodist Church in 1974 and had been active with their men's group. He also enjoyed gardening, walking his dog, Ichabod, and keeping up with the morning news at coffee with his friends at Hy-Vee.



Surviving is his wife, Marcene; daughter, Hayley Jo (Rob) Sizemore of Eldora; son, Bernard Trout of Miami, Florida; grandsons, Shane, Keith and Brett Sizemore; great-grandson, Taylor Sizemore; great-granddaughter, Mercedes Sizemore; brothers, Neale Trout of Eldora, Larry Trout of Urbandale, and Marvin Trout of Urbandale; sister, Barbara Neymeyer of Eldora; and by a niece and nephew. Barry was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Cal Neymeyer.
