Alfred H. Tjepkes, 89, of Parkersburg, Iowa, died Monday, December 12, 2005, at the Ackley Presbyterian Village. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer Unit Presbyterian Foundation, 502 Butler Street, Ackley, Iowa 50601.
Alfred was born August 5, 1916 in Dike, Iowa, the son of Henry A. and Fannie (VanHauen) Tjepkes. He attended Parkersburg Schools graduating in 1934. On April 2, 1940 he was united in marriage to Ella Schiller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Alfred farmed and was a jack of all trades working around the Parkersburg area. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Parkersburg, Iowa.
Survivors include 3 daughters Bonnie Lindaman of Parkersburg, Carol and her husband Ralph Voogd of Parkersburg, and Lois and her husband Dennis Mennen of Parkersburg; 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Viola Sealman of Waterloo, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Ella; son in law: Larry Lindaman; brother: Albert Tjepkes; and a brother in law: Alvin Sealman.
